2026 Plant Sale: Everything Our Members Need to Know
The boulevards are in full bloom and the pollinators are out, which can only mean one thing, it’s time to get ready for the NHGC Plant Sale.
It truly takes a village to bring this event together, and we’re so grateful for the time, effort, and care our members put in to make it such a success each year. More information on all things Plant Sale is below, and be sure to join us at our April meeting as we plan for another great event.
Plant Sale Details
The Plant Sale will take place on Saturday, May 2 from 10 AM to 1 PM.
To ensure a fair shopping experience, we plan to block off early arrivals prior to the start time, except in the case of inclement weather.
Calling All Volunteers
It takes a village to run the Plant Sale, and we need help with set up, breakdown, checkout, plant loading, and more. Add your name to the volunteer list here.
Soil, Pots, and Labels
Soil and pots for your donations are available at the home of Sally and Roy Wilcox. Please pull around back to load. Labels are available there and will also be provided at the April meeting.
Plant Donations Needed
All members are encouraged to donate at least two plants. These can come from your yard or be purchased from a local nursery (if needed). Please refer to the best sellers list and avoid invasive plants.
Drop-off details:
Judi Talley’s backyard
Any time on Thursday, April 30
Before 12 PM on Friday, May 1
For best results, plants should be dug up and potted by Saturday, April 18 to ensure they look their best for the sale.
Labeling Your Plants
Write the plant name and sun exposure using a permanent marker. Leave space at the top for pricing, which will be completed by the Plant Sale Committee.
If you’re donating a large number of plants, pre-pricing is appreciated. Contact Sally Wilcox or Linda Denton for guidance.
Garden Shed Donations
We are accepting donations again this year, everything from old lawn mowers to extra pots. Kris Mahoney and Paul Laudeman will pick up items on Wednesday, April 29 from 5 PM to 7 PM.
Please contact Kris to join the pick-up list.
Vendor Opportunities
Know a local artist or maker in the neighborhood? We welcome vendors to set up booths during the sale. Apply to be a vendor here.
Boxes Needed
Please save your cardboard boxes and bring them to the park the morning of the Plant Sale to help with purchases.
Thank you again for everything you do to support the NHGC Plant Sale. It’s a true community effort, and we couldn’t do it without you. We’re looking forward to another successful year and can’t wait to see it all come together.
